How do I get the best search results?

Monroe uses a combination of channel and video content and titles to determine the best match for your search result. Here are some best practices when searching:

  • Focus on a specific topic — e.g. "working out", "Fortnite", "dating advice"
  • Try actions and topics rather than categories — e.g. "showing off outfit" over "fashion", "cooking" over "food & drink"
  • Experiment with different variants of what you're looking for — e.g. In addition to "working out", you could try "beginner workouts", "weight loss", "home gym", etc

Avoid:

  • Avoid multiple categories — searching "lifestyle/fashion/beauty" will give lower-quality results than searching them individually
  • Adding filters to the query — rather than "moms in the United States", search "moms" and filter by U.S. creators
  • Specific creators — our search is designed from a semantic perspective, so it doesn't understand what specific people look like.
  • Avoid being too specific — e.g. "dads dyed green facial hair, gardening with kids"

Notes:

  • Our search prefers finding channels where multiple videos match your query, so creators with only one matching video won't be ranked very high.
  • We'll always provide our best matches for your query. If you're not finding what you're looking for, try broadening your search.
